Partial discharge shielding

Partial Discharge Shielding Room Engineering

Partial Discharge (PD) Shielding Room Engineering is a high-precision electromagnetic shielding laboratory project specifically designed for partial discharge (PD) detection and analysis.

Partial Discharge (PD) refers to small-scale corona discharge phenomena caused by defects (such as air bubbles, impurities, sharp burrs, etc.) within the insulation system of electrical equipment. PD signals are extremely weak (typically only a fraction — or even less — of the background noise level), and any external electromagnetic interference can cause distortion of the detection data.

The core objective of PD shielding room engineering is to build an "Electromagnetic Silent Chamber" for PD testing — shielding all external interference, creating an ultra-low background noise environment, and allowing the faint PD signals to "surface."
